Do you pray about it, as much as you talk about it?
Do you pray about it, as much as you talk about it?
I saw this sign the other day on the internet and it got me thinking… It’s actually crazy how we can talk about some of our issues, struggles or dislikes for hours. Many times we feel like calling someone or just hanging out with someone close and we just want to share out heart out. Once we share, we feel a momentary relief as well. Our friends, parents or siblings take time out of their schedule to listen to our rants and provide insight, advice, etc. and that makes us happy and comforted. We realize how much we need each other. The more trust we build, the more we share; the more we share the more we care for one another; and the more we care for one another the more we can endure. So I think it’s important to talk about stuff and I believe it will only help you, it relieves stress and anxiety… but the question is “Do you pray about it, as much as you talk about it?”
Sometimes we have a lot of plans. Plans for the future, education, business, church, family, children, etc. We think, plan and discuss. Maybe with your parents, spouse, friend, someone from the church family or whoever it might be. Talking your plans out is the best way to understand your thoughts better and to bring clarity to the same. Sharing your plans and ideas can provide feedback and open up resources that could benefit you. Sometimes talking out your options and elaborating on the pros and cons can help bring the right choice to light, and you might be surprised at the unexpected direction your thoughts take when they’re audible. It builds relationships, excitement and the platform to succeed. Hence, it is important to talk about your plans and ideas. However the question is “Do you pray about it, as much as you talk about it?”
Can we just be get a little logical and calculate the amount of time we spend talking about our plans, ideas, problems, tragedies, crisis, breakdowns etc. and compare it with the time we take to pray about the same? Sometime it feels like we are just so good at talking but not praying. WE forget that prayer is also “talking” it’s also “sharing”, it’s also “venting”, it’s just that you are now talking to someone divine, someone who knows everything, who knows how you feel and what you want, someone who knows what’s best for you and someone who really cares about you. The Bible says “Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.” – Philippians 4:6-7. That’s right, just take it all to the Lord in prayer… that will bring us so much peace and serenity. So let’s develop that practice of talking to God. Whatever it may be, he knows what’s best for you, your family, your future and your church. LETS PRAY MORE.
